Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is situated in south-western Uganda, within the junction of mountain forests and plains. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is famous for its extraordinary biodiversity and covers over 32,000 ha.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park accommodates half of the total number of endangered mountain gorillas remaining in the world, over 100 species of ferns and butterflies, many bird species, and more than 160 tree species.

Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is on the eastern edge of the Albertine Rift Valley, which makes it host a rich flora and fauna. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is believed to be a Pleistocene refugium, with the greatest number of different tree species in East Africa because of its altitude.

The Bwindi impenetrable forest is home to approximately half of the world’s endangered mountain gorilla population in that conservation frontline that is isolated within an outstanding biological richness and one of tropical Africa’s rural highest population densities.

Bwindi impenetrable forest national park also protects several habituated groups, which can be tracked in this biologically diverse region, as well as providing shelter to other primates such as chimpanzees, baboons, elephants, antelopes, and the 23 rift valley endemics.
